hosted by Renaissance Learning.
Is Renaissance Place accessible from mobile devices, such as
an iPod, iPhone, iPad, Blackberry, or Android device?
What is available?
Student App for iOS devices
The AR Student App is available for students who are using Accelerated
Reader on the Renaissance Place platform hosted by Renaissance Learning. The
devices that are supported at this time are Apple’s iPad (including the iPad
Mini), iPhone, and iPod touch running iOS 5.0 and higher. The previous version of the AR Student App,
version 1.2.3, will continue to function on devices running iOS 4.0. The AR Student App can be downloaded from iTunes
or the App Store. See https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/accelerated-reader/id440734561?mt=8 for more
Reader Student interface
AR has a new student interface with a completely redesigned
look. The new interface is much more intuitive and engaging, and offers
improved accessibility to quizzes, vocabulary words, and quiz results. Students
can access the new interface in a browser on supported computers as well as on
tablets 7 inches or greater.
Math Student interface
Accelerated Math Enterprise has a new online student program. Students can
now use a web browser to complete online assignments or score printed
assignments, access instructional resources such as worked examples and math
glossary terms linked to the problems they are working, and view their progress
towards personal goals. The student program is accessible through Renaissance
Place or Renaissance Home Connect (although tests must still be scored at
school) in a browser on supported computers as well as on tablets 7
inches or greater. If students are scoring printed Accelerated Math practices,
they will also need a PDF reader to view/print the new practice, preferably
Adobe Reader 9 or later.
The K12Activity App to display Accelerated Reader data is designed for
the iPod touch and iPhone, and can be used to display up-to-date information on
the books students are reading. Although the Widget was not specifically
designed for the iPad, it can be accessed on that device; the screen is a
larger version of what the user would see on the iPod touch and iPhone. The
K12Activity App can be downloaded from iTunes or the App Store.
Students are now able to log in to Home Connect on iPads as well as
other tablets 7 inches or greater. Students can view their reading and math
practice, work in MathFacts in a Flash, score Accelerated Math practices and exercises
(if the class preference is set to allow this type of activity), and view
progress towards goals. If students are scoring printed Accelerated Math
practices, they will also need a PDF reader to view/print the new practice,
preferably Adobe Reader 9 or later.
MathFacts in a
Students are now able to use MathFacts in a Flash on tablets 7 inches or
greater through Renaissance Place or Renaissance Home Connect. Adobe Flash

STAR App for iPads
The STAR App is
now available for students who are using a STAR product on the Renaissance
Place platform hosted by Renaissance Learning. Students can now take STAR
Reading, STAR Math, STAR Early Literacy, and STAR Reading Spanish tests on
iPads (including the iPad Mini) running iOS 5.0 and higher. The STAR App can be
downloaded from iTunes or the App Store. See https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/star/id632254791?mt=8&ign-mpt=uo%3D4 for more
STAR Student interface
The STAR testing interface was updated on August 1, 2014 to
no longer require Adobe Flash Player. Students can now take STAR Early Literacy, STAR Math, STAR

we are continuing to make periodic changes to Renaissance Place to improve
functionality. In the meantime, personnel users may notice subtle differences
in the software when accessing Renaissance Place applications on a computer
versus a tablet.
