Is Renaissance Place accessible from mobile devices, such as
an iPod, iPhone, iPad, Blackberry, or Android device?
What is available?
Accelerated Reader App for iOS devices
The Accelerated Reader App is available for students who are using
Accelerated Reader (or the independent reading component of Accelerated Reader 360). The devices that are supported at this time are Apples iPad (including
the iPad Mini), iPhone, and iPod touch running iOS 5.0 and higher. The App can be downloaded from
iTunes or the App Store. See https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/accelerated-reader/id440734561?mt=8
for more information.
Accelerated Reader 360 App for iPads
The Accelerated Reader 360 App is intended for students who are using Accelerated Reader or Accelerated Reader 360, as well as teachers using Accelerated Reader 360. The App is supported on iPads running iOS 8.0 or later. The App can be downloaded from iTunes or the App Store. See https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/accelerated-reader-360/id948069576?mt=8 for more information.
- Students can use the App to access the independent reading component of Accelerated Reader, with the same experience they have when using a web browser. If they are using Accelerated Reader 360, they can also use the App to access instructional reading content and assignments.
- Teachers that are using Accelerated Reader 360 can use the App to find and assign digital reading, as well as import their own PDFs, ePubs, and articles from the web. They can see the status of each assignment activity, easily score activities, and see AR quiz scores alongside the hand-scored activities.
Accelerated Reader Student interface
can access Accelerated Reader in a browser on supported computers as well as on
tablets 7 inches or greater.
Accelerated Math Student interface
Students can use a web browser on supported computers as well as on tablets 7 inches or greater to complete online assignments or
score printed assignments, access instructional resources such as worked
examples and math glossary terms linked to the problems they are working, and
view their progress towards personal goals. If students are scoring printed Accelerated
Math practices, they will also need a PDF reader to view/print the new
practice, preferably Adobe Reader 9 or later.
Accelerated Reader Widget
The K12Activity App to display Accelerated Reader data is
designed for the iPod touch and iPhone, and can be used to display up-to-date
information on the books students are reading. Although the Widget was not
specifically designed for the iPad, it can be accessed on that device; the
screen is a larger version of what the user would see on the iPod touch and
iPhone. The K12Activity App can be downloaded from iTunes or the App Store.
Students are able to log in to Home Connect on iPads as
well as other tablets 7 inches or greater. Students can view their reading and
math practice, work in MathFacts in a Flash, score Accelerated Math practices
and exercises (if the class preference is set to allow this type of activity),
and view progress towards goals. If students are scoring printed
Accelerated Math practices, they will also need a PDF reader to view/print the
new practice, preferably Adobe Reader 9 or later.
