Issue:
How do I get my AccelScan 1100 USB scanner to work on
Macintosh OS X?
Reason:
Use the instructions below to set up the AccelScan 1100 USB
scanner on OS X.
Resolution:
Please be sure you are logged on to the computer as the
administrator as it will be necessary for the installation and to restart the
computer after the installation is complete.
The scanner cannot be plugged into the computer prior to
step 8.
1)
Click HERE
to download the file ALS_Preferences_Scanner.dmg and save the file to
your Macintosh desktop.
2)
Double click the file ALS_Preferences_Scanner.dmg to
extract.
3)
Double click the file ALS_Preferences_Scanner to
access the actual ALS Preferences file.
4)
Copy the extracted file ALS Preferences to Macintosh
hard drive | Library | Application Support | Renaissance Learning, overwriting
any existing file.
5)
Click HERE
to download the file FTDIUSBSerialDriver_v2_1_7.dmg and save it to your
Macintosh desktop.
6)
Locate the file FTDIUSBSerialDriver_v2_1_7.dmg you
downloaded and double click to decompress the installer.
7)
Double click the file FTDIUSBSerialDriver.pkg to launch
the installer and follow the on-screen prompts.
8)
Connect the scanner to the computer and log into the
AccelScan or AM Quick Scan application.
9)
You may need to edit the scanner settings and select the
corresponding port before you will be able to scan any cards.
If you are using an Intel-based Macintosh you must use the
AccelScan 2110 or 2210 USB scanner.
