Issue:
When a
student logs in to work in the Fluency Practice software, the passage graphics
do not appear.
Students
may also see the error messages “A generic error occurred in GDI+” or “Passages
cannot be found”.
Reason:
This issue will occur if QuickTime 7.1.3 or above has been
installed and the setting to allow Flash track viewing and QuickTime exporting
is disabled. In QuickTime versions 7.1.3 to 7.2, there is an option to enable
this setting but if you are using QuickTime version 7.3.1 or above, Flash track
viewing is completely disabled and there is no option to enable it.
Resolution:
This issue has been resolved for all hosted Read Now Power
Up! sites during the summer of 2009 by updating the Fluency Practice graphics
files from SWF (Adobe Shockwave Flash) files that require Flash track viewing
to PNG (Portable Networks Graphics) files.
