The Dana 1.5.0 ROM update is not compatible with early Dana (AA) units that have only 8MB of memory.

Issue:

 

The Dana 1.5.0 ROM update is not compatible with early Dana (AA) units that have only 8MB of memory.

 

Reason:

 

There is not enough memory to support the ROM update.

 

Resolution:

 

Early model Danas with 8MB of RAM can install the 1.2.0 ROM.

 

How to find out your Dana's RAM size:

 

1)     Turn Dana on and press the <apps> key.

 

2)     Press the <menu> key.

 

3)     Tap on [info].

 

·        If you see Free Space: <#>/15.5M then your Dana is a 16MB version.  You can install the 1.5 ROM update.  Please check the current ROM version first (below).

 

·        If you see Free Space: <#>/7.5M then your Dana is a 8MB version.  The 1.5 ROM update IS NOT compatible with your Dana.  Please contact Renaissance Learning Technical Support to obtain the Dana 1.2.0 ROM update.

 

How to find out the ROM version of your 16 MB Dana:

 

1)     Turn Dana on and press the <apps> key.

 

2)     Press the <menu> key.

 

3)     Tap on [info].

 

4)     Tap on [version].

 

5)     Press the <Function> key and the <I> key simultaneously.

 

6)     Check the Big Rom version of your Dana. If it is 1.2.1 or below, then the 1.5.0 ROM update is appropriate. If it is 1.5.0 or higher, the update is NOT needed and should NOT be performed.
