Issue:

 

Internal Error: 2738 appears when installing the Palm Desktop software.

 

Reason:

 

This error can occur for several reasons depending on the Windows Operating System. “Internal Error 2738” can either indicate a corrupt or missing Windows Script Host (WSH), or an unregistered .dll file.

 

Resolution:

 

Windows XP/2000

 

Download and install the current version of Windows Script Host from Microsoft's website; please use the following link to obtain the current Windows Script Host:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/915167/en-us.

 

Windows Vista

 

1)     Click on Start > All Programs > Accessories.  Right-click on “Command Prompt” and select “Run as Administrator.”

 

2)     At the command prompt, type “cd \” without the quotations, and press enter.

 

3)     Now type “cd Windows\system32\” and press enter.

 

4)     Type “regsvr32 VBScript.DLL” and press enter.

 

5)     Click <OK> in the successful registration window.

 

6)     Install Palm Desktop.
