Which wireless (802.11b) adapters does Dana support?

Product: Dana
Platform: Macintosh, Windows
Last Updated: 2010/05/18

Issue:

Which wireless (802.11b) adapters does Dana support?

Resolution:

There are currently three USB 802.11b wireless dongles listed below that are supported by Dana if the Big ROM version is 1.2 or higher.  To find which ROM version your Dana is running, reference KB article # 5140443.  If you need to update your ROM, please contact Renaissance Learning Technical Support at support@renlearn.com.

  • Microsoft MN-510:

Highly recommended adapter for use with the Dana, and should be easy to find in the US.  Microsoft has discontinued this adapter.

  • US Robotics 1120:

Recommended adapter for the UK (also available in the US).  US Robotics has discontinued this adapter.

  • D-LINK DWL-120 :

Support for this adapter is limited to older versions that shipped with the prism chipset.  D-Link changed to another chipset with no external, distinguishing markings on the device.  D-Link has discontinued this device.

What to look for when trying to find the D-Link adapter:

·        The device is gray in color, not foldable, and has an antenna (new models have the antenna built-in).

·        Does not have a revision number
