Renaissance Accelerated Math assignments are missing some symbols or
have strange characters in place of the symbols, when printed from Adobe Reader
9.x or above on Windows computers. This may occur for practices that print after
scoring with AccelScan, a NEO 2, or a Responder, and also for assignments that
are printed or reprinted from the Assignment Book.
you are seeing this issue on Macintosh computers, see KB article #6846772.
The font used for the assignment header is Arial, and the font used for problems and answer choices is Times New Roman. The fonts used for math symbols are Fences Plain, MT Extra, MT Plain, and Times New Roman. When assignments are direct printed, Adobe Reader X or XI may substitute Adobe Sans or some other font for all or part of the assignment. (This is more of an issue with large assignments and when printing for more than one student at a time.) When the math symbol fonts are converted from Fences Plain, MT Extra, or MT Plain to Adobe Sans, they appear as large bold lower or upper case letters, a small letter o with an umlaut, small letter i with an accent mark, or some other character. Assignment paging may display as 2!pg!4 instead of 1 of 3, 3!pg!4 instead of 2 of 3, etc.
