When students work in Renaissance web-based applications, the quiz, practice, test, or lesson does not load.

Issue:

  • Students see the message, If the practice didn't load immediately, this computer may have popup blocking software. Set your computer to allow this site, or click the button below. when logging into Renaissance Home Connect and clicking on Start Practicing on the MathFacts in a Flash tab.
  • Students see a pop-up blocking message when starting to work on lessons in English in a Flash. The complete message is Please see your teacher. If the quiz did not load correctly, this computer may have popup blocking software. You can adjust your blocker to allow this site, or click the start button below. When the student clicks on the [Start] button, the button might disappear, or the lesson may start.

Reason:

Pop-up blocking software may be preventing your Renaissance application from functioning as designed.

Resolution:

If students are seeing the message when trying to work on MathFacts in a Flash in Home Connect, they will need to click the [Start] button.

If students are seeing the message when trying to work in English in a Flash, refer to the instructions below to disable pop-up blocking for the browser you are using.

Internet Explorer

1)    Open Internet Explorer.

2)    Click on the Tools Menu, then Internet Options.

3)    Click on the Privacy tab.

4)    Under the Pop-up Blocker section, remove the check from Turn on Pop-up Blocker or click on [Settings] and add your Renaissance website to the list of allowed sites. You may also add *.renlearn.com to allow pop-ups across the entire domain.

5)    Click [Close], then [OK].

Firefox

1)    Open Firefox.

2)    Click on the Firefox Menu (3 horizontal lines displayed as ), then select Options.

3)    Select the Privacy & Security panel and go to the Permissions section.

4)    Either uncheck the option to Block pop-up windows or click on [Exceptions] and add your Renaissance site as an exception.

5)    Click [Save Changes].

Chrome

1)    Open Chrome.

2)    Click on the icon to Customize and control Google Chrome (3 vertically stacked dots), then click on Settings.

3)    Click on "Advanced" at the bottom of the page to show the advanced settings.

4)    Under Privacy and security, click on "Content Settings", then locate the "Pop-ups and redirects" section and click it.

5)    If it shows "Blocked (recommended)", you can either click on that to change popups to be "Allowed" for all sites, or click [Add] next to the "Allow" section to add your Renaissance site as an exception.
