Issue:
Rights are not being copied to all enclosed files and
folders on my Macintosh OS X server or workstation.
Reason:
When setting rights to a folder on your OS X server or OS X
workstation, even though you have clicked on the [Copy] button to copy the
rights to all enclosed files and folders, the rights are not being propagated.
Resolution:
1)
Open Terminal by going to Hard Drive | Applications |
Utilities | Terminal
2)
From the command line, navigate to the folder that contains
your Renaissance Learning application files, data files or preference files.
3)
To give everyone Read, Write and Execute, type the following
command:
chmod –R
777 .
4)
After the command is typed at the prompt, press [Enter].
5)
You can now open your application and/or connect to your
database.
If you encounter the error, “Operation not permitted” at the
command line, please follow the steps below based on your application:
Accelerated Grammar & Spelling
If you received the following error:
“./AGS Data Doctor/Contents/Resources/DD.icns: Operation not
permitted”
Follow the steps below:
1)
Open the folder that contains Accelerated Grammar &
Spelling.
2)
Hold down your Control key, click on Accelerated Grammar
& Spelling Data Doctor, and click on “Show package contents”.
3)
Open the Contents folder.
4)
Open the Resources folder.
5)
Highlight the DD.icns file and choose File à Get Info.
6)
Take out the checkmark in front of “Locked” and close the
Get Info details.
7)
Go through steps 1 through 5 in the Resolution section
above.
Accelerated Math (version 2.2 and higher)
If you received the following error:
“./Accelerated Math Data Doctor/Contents/Resources/DD.icns:
Operation not permitted”
Follow the steps below:
1)
Open the folder that contains Accelerated Math.
2)
Hold down your Control key, click on Accelerated Math Data
Doctor, and click on “Show package contents”.
3)
Open the Contents folder.
4)
Open the Resources folder.
5)
Highlight the DD.icns file and choose File à Get Info.
6)
Take out the checkmark in front of “Locked” and close the
Get Info details.
7)
Go through steps 1 through 5 in the Resolution section
above.
