One of my students received a recommendation to use the Pre-Algebra or Algebra 1 library, which seems much too high, and the text in the Diagnostic report does not seem to apply.

Product: STAR Math 2.x
Platform: Macintosh, Windows
Last Updated: 2010/03/10

Issue:

One of my students received a recommendation to use the Pre-Algebra or Algebra 1 library, which seems much too high, and the text in the Diagnostic report does not seem to apply.

Reason:

This may happen if your student received a Scaled Score of exactly 340.  Scaled Scores of 339 and 341 are fine as well as others. The Pre-Algebra library is recommended for students in grades 1 through 7, and the Algebra library is recommended for students in grades 8 and above.

Resolution:

This issue has been addressed in STAR Math 2.1 (and later). The update to the most current version is available from our Download Center. For upgrade instructions, please see article #2447571.
