STAR Reading 2.2.2 has been enhanced in the following ways:
1)
Addresses slow editing of student’s information in large
databases on Macintosh computers, which sometimes caused the program to freeze
or take several minutes to return to the list of students.
2) Addresses situations in which STAR Reading used 100% of the
central processing unit’s time.

STAR Reading 2.2 has been enhanced in the following ways:
1)
Beginning with version 2.2, STAR Reading Management and
Student programs automatically detect and update Windows system files, which
might interfere with data transmission across a network. The program replaces
unstable versions of the VREDIR.VXD and VNETSUP.VXD files on Windows 95
computers. Any changes made to system files will require the computer to be
restarted.
2) Content has been updated.
3) An extended time limit feature has been added. This allows
specified students three times as long to answer questions when taking a test
in the STAR Reading Student program.
·
Grades 1 and 2 –
standard time for each question = 60 seconds, extended time for each question =
180 seconds
·
Grades 3 through 12 –
standard time for each question 1 through 20 = 45 seconds, extended time for
each question 1 through 20 = 135 seconds
·
Grades 3 through 12 –
standard time for each question 21 through 25 = 90 seconds, extended time for
each question 21 through 25 = 270 seconds
4) All reports for tests taken with the extended time limit
will have a special notation of a # symbol next to the test score.
5) Change Enrollment functionality was added to allow you to
transfer a student to a new class without having to unenroll the student and
reenroll the student.
6) Enhanced student enrollment functionality.

STAR Reading 2.1 has been enhanced in the following ways:
Installation
1) During installation, STAR Reading 2.1 automatically updates
the Vredir.vxd and Vnetsup.vxd files on Windows 95 computers. The older
versions of these two system files could possibly cause some data corruption in
Windows NT and Windows Peer-to-Peer networks. For additional information on the
Vredir.vxd and Vnetsup.vxd, see article #1634981.
2) STAR Reading 2.1 installs an autoupdater which allows you to
easily upgrade to the next version of STAR Reading (the autoupdater is included
in STAR Reading 2.1, but will not be activated until the next release of STAR
Reading).
Management Application
1)
The Duplicate Class feature has been improved to allow you
to copy a class and its enrollment from one foundation product to another (if
they share the same database).
2) The ability to choose Draft Mode Printing has been included.
This feature will allow you to reduce the printing time required for the
Diagnostic, Parent, and Snapshot reports. To enable Draft Mode Printing, choose
the Go menu, and select Preferences. Highlight the Draft Mode Printing
preference, and click [Edit]. Place a check in the box.
Student Application
STAR Reading 2.1
addresses a performance issue that caused a long delay between the practice
session and test session for students. If your students are encountering a
delay between the practice and test sessions, upgrade all of your workstations
to the latest version of STAR Reading.
