Top
Accelerated Math 2.32 (Patch) has been enhanced in the
following ways:
Parent Report
Customers who installed the 2.31 patch were unable to run
the Parent Report. The report will generate as expected when the 2.32 patch is
installed.
Corrupted Fonts
Windows customers who had installed the 2.31 patch were
missing fonts causing assignment printing issues. All fonts are now properly
installed.
Accelerated Math 2.31 has been
enhanced in the following ways:
Reports
The wording on the TOPS report has been updated to
accurately reflect totals. The median
diagnostic code has been updated to flag students appropriately when they are
at less than ˝ of median objectives mastered on the Diagnostic report. The number of regular and diagnostic tests
are now reported properly on the Diagnostic report. The median of objectives mastered is calculated only using
students who have completed assignments, not all students on the Diagnostic
report. The percent at risk is now
reported consistently between the Diagnostic and Schoolwide summary reports.
OS X Printing
The installer will update the Equation Editor Fonts folder
on OS X workstations to allow for better assignment printing.
Top
Accelerated Math 2.3 has been
enhanced in the following ways:
OS X Compatibility
The Serial AccelScan scanner is now compatible on OS X
workstations using the keyspan adaptor.
Program access will not be limited to the user that initially installed
the software.
Installation
Improved update process that uses less system resources,
includes a progress bar to indicate status, and has the functionality to use
auto-update steps without a data location established.
Terminal Server/Citrix
Improved performance through Terminal Services and Citrix
thin-client connections.
Sample Data
Sample Data has been updated to provide more accurate report
details.
Reports
Many reports have been updated to handle mastery from
Diagnostic Tests the same as mastery from Regular Tests, including Diagnostic
Test mastery in totals. The percent of
full pace calculation has been updated on the Diagnostic Report. Some reports were also enhanced to run more
efficiently with large databases.
Diagnostic Export
Improved to allow for more efficient export generation with
large databases that include many classes, including a progress bar that will
display when the export is running.
Top
Accelerated Math 2.2 has been
enhanced in the following ways:
OS X Compatibility
Accelerated
Math 2.2 will run natively on Macintosh OS X workstations running OS version
10.2.3 or higher.
Reports
The
Parent Report can now be printed in Spanish. Points are no longer emphasized in
Accelerated Math and have been removed from reports. Many reports have been
updated to better report on diagnostic test and exercise data. Results from
Exercises and Practices are displayed separately on the Diagnostic and Marking
Period Progress Reports. Diagnostic test data is shown separately on the
Diagnostic Report, the Schoolwide Summary Report, the Marking Period Progress
Report and the Student Record Report.
Diagnostic Test Reporting
The
Diagnostic Test Reporting preference has been removed, since these results are
now displayed separately on several reports.
Average Regular Test % Correct goal
A
goal has been added for average percent correct on regular tests.
Assignment Book Changes
The
override feature has been removed from the Assignment Book. The Reset feature
has changed to "Unassign," which can only be used on assignments with
no work, scored or unscored.
Improved Scanning
Scanner
performance has been improved. USB scanners, and serial scanners using Keyspan
or Belkin adapters, should be more easily recognized in Accelerated Math on
Macintosh computers.
Accelerated Math 2.1 has been enhanced in the following
ways:
Automatically updates system files
Beginning with version 2.0, Accelerated Math Management and
Quick Scan programs automatically detect and update system files, which might
interfere with data transmission across a network. The program replaces unstable versions of the VREDIR.VXD and
VNETSUP.VXD files on Windows 95 computers.
New in version 2.1, if a computer is running the Novell NetWare Client,
the program will check the Client Advanced Settings and update them to the recommended
values. Accelerated Math will also
check the Novell NetWare Client version to be sure it is compatible. Any changes made to system files or settings
will require the computer to be restarted.
Enhanced operating system and scanner support
Accelerated Math 2.1
allows for enhanced support for Windows XP, support for Citrix thin-client
workstations, as well as support for AccelScan Model 2110 Serial (RS232) and
USB (Universal Serial Bus) intelligent mark recognition scanners and improved
scan cards. Once the appropriate port
is selected, the Accelerated Math 2.1 program will automatically detect whether
you are using the AccelScan 1100 Serial or 2110 USB model.
Points calculation
Each library now has Points assigned
according to library difficulty. You
will find each library’s Mastery Points in the Libraries panel. The Total Points Earned calculation on the
Diagnostic Report, TOPS Reports and Schoolwide Summary Report have been revised
to measure the difficulty level as well as quantity of objectives mastered.
Improvements to the Diagnostic Report
We have added an Average Mastered
Objective Level column. The Median of
Points Earned has been added to the Class Summary section. A Completion Rate percent has also been added
to the Class Summary section for monitoring the percentage of a library
completed during the reporting period.
Diagnostic Report Export feature
This feature exports
the Diagnostic Report information into a tab-delimited file that can be opened
with MS Excel or any other spreadsheet compatible program. It is available in the Classroom and School
Reports menus.
Enhanced date customization for the Parent Report
Previously you could only run the
Parent Report by marking period — now you can select any date range to
customize your Parent Reports.
Grouping and sorting options for the Schoolwide Summary
Report
You can now specify
whether you want to customize this report to sort by Grade or Class.
Improved student enrollment, import/export functionality
A
dual list box has been added making enrolling students into a class, and
importing or exporting data more user friendly. You can now use Quick Find to search for each student you need to
enroll into your class, import, or export without losing your current
selections.
HTML Help system
Macintosh
customers should notice an improved search capability and more usable help —
entire sequences instead of click-by-click steps. The AppleHelp Viewer that is used for most Macintosh help now
provides advantages over the old AppleGuide system.
Technical Requirements
Accelerated Math 2.1
with AccelScan 1100 or 2110 Serial scanners requires Windows 95 or higher, or
Macintosh OS 8.6 to OS 9.x. AccelScan
2110 USB scanners require Windows 98 or higher (Windows 95 and Windows NT are
not compatible with USB scanners), or Macintosh OS 9.04 or higher.
Top
Accelerated Math 2.02 has been enhanced in the following
ways:
AccelScan 2110 compatibility
Accelerated Math 2.02 was designed to work with the
AccelScan 2110 scanner. The AccelScan 2110 has been enhanced in the following
ways:
- More accurately recognizes student
marks – it distinguishes many degrees of darkness from a variety of
marking instruments and cleverly ignores lighter erasures.
- Easier to take care of – the paper
path opens for cleaning without tools.
- Now smaller, sleeker, more
ergonomically designed.
- Allows placement nearly anywhere,
the cables can be run underneath the scanner for convenience.
- The integrated communication cable
simplifies installation, it cannot come unplugged.
- Greater reliability, the scanner
provides quieter operation from an improved design with fewer moving
parts.
Scanner Preference
The Scanner
preference has been updated to allow you to specify which scanner you have
connected, AccelScan 1100 or AccelScan 2110. You can view the Scanner
preference by choosing Preferences from the School portion of the Go menu.
Program Information Report
The Accelerated Math
Program Information Report will now list the attached scanner’s model, firmware
version and serial number.
Scan Cards
The program also
allows the use of revised scan cards. The scan cards have been enhanced in the
following ways:
- Form number is now written
horizontal instead of vertical, which is easier for students to write and
read.
- Numbers are black instead of red, which
makes finding the correct row easier.
- The E column has been removed to
eliminate confusion - Accelerated Math never used an E distracter.
- The numbers are shaded in blocks
of five, which makes the card easier to read and use.
- Darker red bubbles and letters,
which are easier on the eyes and reduces errors.
Note: Once
Accelerated Math 2.02 is installed, either scanner can be used. The AccelScan
2110 and the AccelScan 1100 USB will require the use of the new scan cards. If
using the AccelScan 1100 Serial, either scan card will work.

Accelerated Math 2.0 has been improved in the following
ways:
Installation
- Accelerated
Math 2.0 installs an auto-updater that will allow you to easily upgrade to
the next version of Accelerated Math (the auto-updater is included in
Accelerated Math 2.0, but will not be activated until the next release of
Accelerated Math).
- The Accelerated Math 2.0 program
will check for the Vredir.vxd and Vnetsup.vxd files every time the
Accelerated Math Management and Quick Scan programs are opened. If an old
version – Vredir.vxd 4.00.1111 or Vnetsup.vxd 4.00.950 – would be found,
it would replace the files automatically and require the computer to be
restarted before the program could be accessed from that location again.
For more information on these files, please refer to http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/q174/3/71.asp.
Management Application
- Quick Tips will appear when you
start the program.
- You can now export and import
student work on all objectives, not just objectives that have been
mastered or completed.
- Ability to copy classes and
student enrollment quickly from other Renaissance Learning programs.
- You can transfer students to
different classes without losing their previous work.
- The Record Book is now called the
Assignment Book, and the Assignment Book menu includes the features that
were on a separate Objectives screen in version 1.x.
- The Management program also
includes an Extended Response Assignment Book for student work on
objectives that require higher-order problem solving.
- You can now print some reports
directly from the Libraries screen, the Assignment Book, the Extended
Response Assignment Book, and the Team Goals screen.
- In the Assignment Book, you can
mark objectives that come from the standards you select.
- You can synchronize the order of
objectives in classes that use the same objectives.
- Run the Management System and
Quick Scan simultaneously - no more switching between them.
- New class preferences allow you to
control automatic scrolling in the Assignment Book and Extended Response
Assignment Book, the appearance of assignments, Extended Response scoring,
Quick Scan scoring and TOPS Report printing.
- The Diagnostic Test Reporting
preference allows the administrator to determine whether diagnostic test
data will be included in reports.
- A new Teams & Goals screen
allows you to set individual goals for students. If you wish, you can also
set up teams and track team progress based on the team members' individual
goals.
- Several new reports have been
added, and custom report options have been divided into three buttons:
[Group], [Date], and [Options].
- The Program Information report is
now included and lists the classroom preference settings for each class as
well as the school preferences.
- Once you save your custom settings
for reports, you can make them the default settings, delete them, or print
a report from the saved setup. See the options in the Reports menu at
either Reports screen.
- You can reprint your TOPS report
for any previous assignment, not just the last assignment that was scored.
