Issue:
How do I resolve the
error message "The class name
classroom is in use by another user. Please try again later." Or,
"There is a security problem. Contact the Monitor or your Teacher."
Resolution:
Problem One:
"The class name classroom is in use by
another user. Please try again later."
After verifying
another teacher is not actually using the classroom in question, you will need
to "Clear All Locks."
1) Instruct your program administrator to start the management
program.
2) From the Go menu,
choose Classes.
3) From the Classes
menu, choose Clear All Locks.
4) A progress bar will be displayed. This will signal that the
program is working.
5) Next, a dialog box will appear with the message "There
does not seem to be any activity in the class
name classroom. Are you sure you want to unlock the class?" Click the
[Yes] button.
6) The next dialog box will display "All classes have been
unlocked." Click the [OK] button.
7) You will now be able to continue using the management
program.
Problem Two:
"There is a
security problem. Contact the Monitor or your Teacher."
Typically, this will
happen when a student types in an incorrect password too many times.
1) Start the management program.
2) From the Go menu,
choose Students.
3) From the Students
menu, choose Clear All Locks.
4) The message, "All students have been unlocked,"
will be displayed. Click the [OK] button.
5) Exit the management program. Your students will now be able
to log in normally.
Note: Incorrect
password attempts can be determined by the School Administrator. Edit the Login
Preference located under the Preferences menu of the School section. The Login
Preference can be changed to No Limit to prevent students from getting locked
out.
